About the JDG

The JDG is a forum of the University of Oxford for discussing original work in legal theory as well as moral and political philosophy.

Since its creation in 1997 by Timothy Endicott, the JDG has welcomed renowned scholars from all around the world and has been convened by junior members of the Law Faculty and research students. You can read more about that on our History page.

We meet on Thursday afternoons during term time. Presentations normally begin at 5pm.

In 2021-2022 the JDG is convened by C├ęcile Degiovanni, Mauricio Garetto Boeri, and Andreas Vassiliou (more on the Convenors page).
