The JDG is an informal and lively forum for the discussion of original work in legal theory and philosophy of law. Open to everybody, it is particularly directed at students, who are always encouraged to present their work in progress, intervene in our unceremonious debates, or simply drop by, have some wine, and listen to the discussion.
We meet every Thursday evening at Balliol College, in the Massey Room. Presentations (17h30) are preceded by drinks (17h15) and followed by discussion (from 18h00 on). Everyone is very welcome.
Since its creation in 1997 by Timothy Endicott, the JDG has been convened by Luís Duarte d’Almeida (2010/11), James Edwards (2010/11), Andrea Dolcetti (2009/11), Danny Priel (2003/5), Dwight Newman (2003/5), François Tanguay-Renaud (2006/7), Guy Sela (2007/9), Jorge Menezes Oliveira (2007/8), Maris Köpcke Tinturé (2005/9), Michelle M. Dempsey (2005/6), Nick Barber (2000/3), Pablo Stafforini (2009/10), Paul Brady (2009/10), Paul Yowell (2005/6), Raquel van der Wijk (2008/9), and Samantha Besson (2001/3).
In 2010-11 the JDG is convened by Thomas Adams, Asif Hameed and Christopher Hinchcliffe .
